Building Your Professional Practice: Marketing an Intangible Service

Presented by: Barry Weissman

Learn about successful marketing techniques to build your practice.

Mediation as a business is segmented by the markets being served:  Labor, Energy, Family & Divorce, Business and so forth.  Which marketing techniques can be effectively applied?  How can you, the mediator, use both static and dynamic marketing techniques?  What are these techniques?  What new languages and forms of communication can be applied?  How can the mediator create an individual identity or niche in the market place identifying their specific mediation services?  How can the mediator use demographics and trends to build a successful practice? This workshop provides you with the opportunity to learn tried and proven techniques to market your mediation practice.

Barry Weissmanis a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) with over thirty years of business experience as a fee-only financial advisor to individuals, families, and small businesses.  Under the umbrella of Barry M. Weissman & Associates, Mr. Weissman operates The Financials of Divorce, applying facilitative and evaluative mediation techniques to couples, families and small businesses in crisis. He also presents a popular MCDR Master Class, “Building Your Professional Practice:  A Workshop.”

A Certificate for 2-hours of ADR related activities will be awarded to attendees.

MCDR is the oldest membership-based organization in Maryland dedicated to promoting the use of mediation and supporting

the mediation profession.  We have a proud history of successfully advocating for allowing multiple professions to practice mediation,

halting attempts to restrict the practice some fifteen years ago.  MCDR is the first organization to establish performance based criteria

now in use as a national model, part of an ongoing dialogue on quality assurance and mediator credentials.
